Damon L. Johnson USMC (Corp)Damon joined the USMC in 1996. After Marine Combat Training, and 1 month recruiter’s assistance, he was off to Welding School at APG Aberdeen Proving Grounds.
After schooling, Damon was sent to the Marine Corps Engineer School not as a student but as the battalion welder. He worked on various projects from bridge boats and tractors to barbecue grills and pull-up bars. He was honorably discharged Aug 2000. Damon said, “By the time 9/11 came around my wife was pregnant with my 1st born son and I decided it was better to stay home... That decision haunts me all the time because as a marine, that's what we crave the most. |
